For numerous seminal contributions to security and privacy research and for visionary leadership in the role of IACR founder.

Don Coppersmith
For numerous foundational and highly influential contributions to the theory and practice of cryptosystem design and analysis.

Whitfield Diffie
For the invention of public-key cryptography.

Ron Rivest
For breakthrough research contributions and for sustained leadership in the technical, educational, and commercial development of cryptology and security.

Adi Shamir
For breakthrough research contributions and for sustained leadership in the technical, educational, and commercial development of cryptology and security.

The awards will be presented on May 5, 2004, during Eurocrypt 2004 in Interlaken, Switzerland.
