Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton campus, Florida, USA)
We are looking for a motivated post-doctoral researcher to join a project on code-based cryptography, one of the main candidates for cryptography in the post-quantum era. The project is naturally aligned with a very actual research trend, and in particular supports the ongoing effort for post-quantum standardization by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The goal of the project is to create efficient and long-term secure cryptographic primitives from code-based cryptography, in the context of encryption and key establishment. This covers a range of research directions, including the investigation of new avenues (such as reproducible codes) as well as bolstering existing solutions (BIKE, LEDA, etc.)

The project is funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), and has a duration of 3 years. The grant includes a collaboration with Prof. Shay Gueron at University of Haifa (Israel), funded by the Binational Science Foundation (BSF). The main place of performance will be the U.S. institution, Florida Atlantic University. However, the postdoc is expected to interface with both the main investigators and work on all the aspects of the project. In particular, we are looking for a candidate who will be able to bridge the expertise areas between the two researchers, Prof. Persichetti (theory) and Prof. Gueron (implementation). Thus, the ideal candidate should have a strong background in coding theory (possibly code-based cryptography), as well as some knowledge of implementation and software.

We offer a very competitive salary, inclusive of benefits, and travel expenses for the full duration of the project. The postdoc will also be able to benefit from working within the Cryptography group at FAU, and interact with the other group members. The starting date should be after the summer, but no later than October 1st, 2019. If interested, please send a complete CV and the names of 3 references to Edoardo Persichetti: epersichetti (at)
