Welcome reception

The welcome reception will take place in the National Archaeological Museum on Sunday 26th, starting from 19.30.

The conference banquet will be held on Wednesday, 29th at the conference hotel Sofia Hotel Balkan starting with a reception at 19.30h.

Plovdiv is one of the oldest cities in Europe and the second largest in Bulgaria. It has a charming old town with narrow cobblestone streets. Bachkovo Monastery is one of the most famous Bulgarian monasteries hidden in the Rodopi Mountains close to Plovdiv.

One day trip to Koprivshtitsa

The historic town of Koprivshtitsa is an architectural reserve, it was here that the first shot of the April Uprising against the Ottoman occupation was fired in 1876. There is a small river running through the town across which most of the restaurants are nicely spread.
