Hotel and Transportation Information
PKC 2004 will be held March 1-4, 2004, in sunny, beautiful, clean Sentosa, Singapore. Sentosa is Singapore’s premier island resort getaway with multi-faceted appeal, teeming with events all year round. Just 15 minutes from the city, it is a unique blend of leisure and recreational facilities including family attractions, sea sports, golf as well as hotel accommodation and retreats. A canopy of secondary rainforest covers 70 percent of the 500-hectare island and is home to monitor lizards, monkeys, peacocks, parrots as well as other native fauna and flora. PKC 2004 will take place at the Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort. Singapore's only beachfront hotel, Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort is located on the island of Sentosa, just 15 minutes from downtown Singapore, a perfect combination of a Resort within a City! Each of its guestrooms has a private balcony overlooking the South China Sea or the lush hills of Fort Siloso. The Resort offers a range of leisure facilities, from the huge free-form swimming pool to a fully-equipped spa, as well as a sea sports center. There's also a business center to meet the professional needs of travelers.
A block of rooms has been arranged at the Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort at discounted rates for PKC 2004 attendees. The conference rate for either a single or double room is S$190.00(~US$112) for sea facing room and S$170.00(~US$100) for hill facing room. These rates are exclusive of total 16% tax. These rates are also offered three days prior to and three days after the conference, subject to availability.

Staying in Style
For accommodations with a nostalgic flavour, the Sijori Resort is as historic as it gets. Housed in a pre-war building located right beside The Merlion, the resort’s 64 rooms come with private balconies that offer sea, garden or Merlion views.

If you prefer a roof over your head but are game for anything spacious, clean and easy on the pocket, these chalets should do nicely. Opt for the airconditioned one-bedroom chalet with four beds and you’re set up for the night with your own TV/VCD set and basic cooking facilities. Nearby air raid shelters and children’s playground will keep the youngsters occupied while you fire up the BBQ pit in the courtyard. Other options include six-bedder chalets and two-bedroom 12-bedder chalets.

The best and most convenient transportation to Sentosa is by Taxi.

For your information, taxi limo is chargeable at S$38.000nett per taxi per way. Please advise if this arrangement is required.
Regular TaxiAlternatively, you may board any taxi at Changi Airport upon their arrival. Estimated taxi fare will be between S$25.00-S$30.00,
depending on traffic condition, peak period surcharge, etc.
Entrance FeeSentosa island admission is S$2 per person. However, the payment is waived for guests of Rasa Sentosa. They need to show the confirmation letter from the hotel.
Complimentary re-entry tickets to re-enter Sentosa are available at Baggage Services. Guests returning to Sentosa without re-entry
tickets will be subjected to the normal entrance fee.
