travelling
visa
In order to come to the United Kingdom, some nationalities may need to apply for a visa. Information about the procedure can be found on this website of the Her Majesty's Government.
Obtaining a visa is the responsibility of the delegate.
If you require a letter of invitation to obtain a visa then please first register for the conference, and then contact eurocrypt2012@cs.bris.ac.uk.
arrival
You will most probably arrive at Cambridge train station, from here it is best to get a taxi or bus to where you are staying. The train station is on the other side of town to the main University (and hence the conference) and whilst walkable you may not want to do this with a suitcase.
- From Central London By Train: Cambridge is around one hour by the train from central London (station King's Cross). Trains leave roughly every 30 minutes.
- Stansted Airport: The nearest of the London Airports is Stansted, and trains run from Stansted to Cambridge directly (taking around 50 minutes). A number of budget airlines fly into Stansted so this might be the best option for many people.
- Heathrow Airport: If arriving at London Heathrow then take the Heathrow Express to London Paddington (takes around 15 minutes). Then cross London via the Circle Line/Hammersmith and City Line (Westbound/Clockwise) until at King's Cross.
- Gatwick Airport: Take the Gatwick Express to London Victoria (takes around 30 mins). Then cross London via the Victoria Line (Northbound) until at King's Cross.
- By Car: If arriving by car then get on the M11, which runs from the London orbital motorway (M25) north to Cambridge. Leave the M11 at Junction 12 and take the A603 into Cambridge. You will enter Cambridge very near the conference venue. Note, that driving and especially parking in Cambridge is worse than usual for English towns.
